Oh, wonderful. Apparently, the whispers persist that Las Vegas will soon be home to a "professional" baseball team. Yes, "professional," because, you know, we're just dying for a team that'll redefine the concept of "losing streak."
And naturally, they've decided to grace us with their presence by erecting a stadium on nine acres of the Strip. Cramming a baseball diamond into a space roughly the size of a postage stamp is exactly what this city needs.
Meanwhile, our actual professional team, the Golden Knights, are just casually waltzing into the Stanley Cup playoffs for the seventh time in eight seasons’s how you show the interlopers how to do it!
Focus Mark, Focus.
I digress, but it's fascinating how the Las Vegas sports scene defies all logic. We've got this gem of an affiliate team, the Las Vegas Aviators, who, bless their hearts, understand the concept of "winning" and "attracting a crowd." How charming. They're like the prodigy child that puts the actual parents to shame.
And, of course, they kicked off their 2025 season with a thrilling 3-2 victory against the Reno Aces in front of a sellout crowd of 9,167. Yes, a sellout crowd.
In a moment of utter madness, one might even suggest that perhaps the Aviators, with their proven ability to play baseball well, deserve that shiny new stadium. And the "professional" team? Well, they can have the Las Vegas Ballpark in Summerlin. It's perfect for... whatever it is they do.
Go Aviators!
Want to have a nice night out and not break the bank? It is friendly and pet-friendly, so I am told. Click here for the team home page.
