For a town that is always developing itself, it's hard to believe that the last resort implosion was the Riviersa in 2016—almost 10 years ago! At it was not very spectacular by design.
However, last night, in under eight minutes from the first shot of fireworks, the drone show, and finally the implosion, the Tropicana went down!
It was awesome to watch. Vegas always puts on a great show. As fun as it was to watch, it was sad to see it go. That place had a great history, and fun times were had there.
What’s Next? ABall Park??
They keep telling us that the land is being cleared to build a new baseball stadium. The chosen team for the city of entertainment is the Oakland Athletics. Like the NFL Raiders, they are the worst team in the league (if not the sport's history).
However, they are good for sports tourism because people will want to come here to see their team win while enjoying a Vegas vacation!
We have not seen any actual financial plans for paying for the proposed stadium other than the LVCVA CEO Steve Hill telling us, “He’s good for it.”
After 67 years and a lot of Las Vegas history, it's now just a pile of rubble!
